Types of concrete

Concrete is generally cement, water and a mixture of sand and stone, however different materials and mixes are mixed for different applications. There are two things about our mixes that are the same:

They all use the highest quality of raw materials.

They all conform to BS EN 206 and BS 8500.

All concrete mix names below are prefixed by letters. The following provides a key: C – Design, PAV – Paving, ST – Standard, RC – Reinforced

C 7/8/ ST1/GEN 0

Lightweight concrete – kerb backing & bedding, blinding, void filling, drainage works

Fibres

Water Reducing Admixture (WRA)

Additive which helps to speed up the curing process by reducing the amount of water used, meaning the concrete can begin to cure faster than usual, and ultimately create a stronger product.

Retardant

To help slow down the setting time of screeds, giving you more time to work.

10mm Aggregate

A reduced stone size
